T-shirt Transformation is the new design I have been very excited with and wrote about a while back. I am thrilled with the results but am still trying to figure out the best way to capture it on camera. There are several new postings in the store but the pictures do NOT do them justice. The concept was born from a shopper interested in a full apron but not interested in the halter style. It was uncomfortable on her neck. I’ve been letting that simmer in the back of my mind as life has continued and then an idea erupted into a rolling boil: what if I used a t-shirt as the bodice of a full apron? I have made several incarnations including the sleeves, excluding the sleeves and one I decided not to use the neckline, so it is a halter style! This line shows much promise as well as being another terrific way to repurpose a fun t-shirt. Seriously, you almost cannot attend an event without getting one and how many t’s does one wardrobe need?! And what about the darling design that suddenly pops a hole almost at the hemline. These aprons will wash and wear beautifully and bring a new pizzazz to any kitchen or project. Please check them out and let me know what you think.

Now that my personal life is calming a bit, I’ve begun perusing craft sites & blogs. OMG! One could easily get lost (spend hours) reading posts, looking at tutorials, etc. It is really awesome to see what other people are creating as that seems to jumpstart my creativity. Funny how those seem to be connected. It seems the internet is just filled with people letting their creative out - that is the revolution aspect. The variety of crafts is amazing! There are things I would love to try but time gets in the way. I am ALREADY having trouble finding enough time to sew/craft what I already love! My personal journey is the evolution; as I learn to incorporate the internet into my personal craft space. One of the first sites I’ve found that is absolutely terrific is whatthecraft.com. Crazy name, wide range of crafts, really good. I encourage you to go check it out and you will get hooked like me.

On another note, the fall craft season is upon us. Isn’t it hard to believe with days and days of 100 + weather, we have to start thinking of corduroy, velvet and Christmas but it is indeed that time for the busy crafter. I’m beginning to look at the craft shows for this fall so pass on anything you love!

Wow, now if I just had enough time to sew, sew, sew. Actually, I’ve been able to sqeeze in some good sewing time the last couple of weeks and have some new items I need to take pics of so I can get them posted. Hope life is proceeding well for all of you.

I’m Lee Ann and I’m still a craft junkie. The more creative I feel, the more I wish I could be home crafting. Then I spend lunch hour shopping, looking for fantastic and unique items that deserve a second chance at a useful life. The obvious and much beloved blue jeans converted to a purse, with pockets and zipper intact. Then there are the less common sweaters converted into bags. How about bib overalls made into an apron? And things just continue, as widespread as your imagination. A belt to use as a purse handle. T-shirts and towels converted to cloth diaper inserts. Emboidered dish towels as accents on an apron. I have loved the idea of upcycling, repurposing, reclaiming, or whatever you want to call it all my life. I am a child of the 70′s and denim is near and dear to my heart. And I love the beautifully designed quilts of today, but must admit that a quilt made from leftovers of the family’s clothing grabs me much more. As if it ties into my love of history – like if the quilt could talk, what stories would the different pieces tell?!

My name is Lee Ann and I am a craft junkie. Is there anyone out there that can relate? I go through withdrawl if life forces me to go too long without creating. When the workday is too long and I need a hit, Etsy or Artfire can fill the need for a little while. I adore seeing what others are doing! It spurs my creative juices. I have one lady at the office that kind of “gets” the need to create but mostly I am on my own with it. I doubt VH1 will create an intervention type show for us….or maybe they have. Anyone seen hoarders?!
Have a super HUMP day.

As this month winds to a close, I realize that I’m not going to devote just a little time to getting settled in the new house – it is going to take a while. Consequently, I have taken up sewing again cause I have been missing it. I have several ideas spinning in my head – just need the time to implement them. Time. Would love to know where to purchase some of that. Or even if I could figure out how to get by without sleeping one night a week. Sigh. My brain just plans so much more than my feeble body can possibly follow through with. Am excited about some new ideas for recycling/repurposing fabric. Cannot wait to get into the new, much larger work room and get at it! Hope your summer is being good to you – and your air conditioner is keeping up!

So it only took me one week to get back on here – I believe it is a record! We have physically in our new house, but in the “boxes in every room” stage. I am excited about my new craft room. I will have an industrial machine, plus my serger & sewing machine, and plenty of room to organize the ridiculous number of plastic tubs which hold my raw materials. I’m holding my own working this week, but have hope that this weekend will bring opportunity to settle in. June 12th brings another Frisco Farmers Market appearance, yeah! It is a terrific setup. If you are in the Frisco, TX area on Sat morning, I encourage you to come out. Fresh food, vendors, families, dogs; it is reminiscent of the familiarity of days gone by. More soon!

So I need to share that I received a call that a much beloved 21 yr/old nephew died Sunday night. Travel is necessary to be with family and say goodbye so I will be away from the website the remainder of the week, May 12 – 16th. I’ll respond to you as quickly as I can next week. In the meantime, my wish is that you have a calm week.
